As part of this year’s Homecoming celebrations, Special Collections and University Archives welcomed back members of Stony Brook’s class of 1975 for a special visit and exhibit. On Saturday October 25, SBU alums gathered in the Melville Library to browse yearbooks, student newspapers, photographs, and memorabilia from their time on campus – rediscovering familiar faces, long-forgotten events, and favorite campus traditions.
A curated display highlighted life at the university during the mid-1970s, from student organizations and residence halls to concerts, athletics, and campus activism. Alums shared stories sparked by the materials, reflecting on how the university shaped their lives and how much the campus has grown and changed since their graduation. It was a pleasure to welcome the Class of 1975 back to campus and to celebrate their continuing connection to the university’s history.
