We’re excited to announce a new partnership with JSTOR through its Digital Stewardship Services charter program, positioning Stony Brook University Libraries as a leading collaborator in the development and implementation of emerging AI technologies for archives and special collections. As a charter participant, Stony Brook University Libraries will play an active role in shaping and providing feedback on JSTOR Seeklight, a new AI-powered tool designed to maximize the discoverability of special collections materials. Seeklight recently received an archival innovation award from the Society of American Archivists, recognizing its potential to transform access to archival collections and research materials.
The Stony Brook University Libraries JSTOR digital collection portal is currently in development and will showcase materials related to Stony Brook University history, regional history, special collections, and other research collections, further expanding access to and awareness of the unique collections held by Stony Brook University. Our aim is to highlight SBU’s distinctive collections frequently requested by researchers which are not available anywhere else on the globe. Once launched, these collections will be available openly on JSTOR.org.
Stay tuned for more news as we launch our digital collections on JSTOR!
