Scholarly Communication & Publishing

Scholarly Communication is the process of conducting research and other academic compositions and pursuits, and sharing the results to the wider academic community: from creation, to dissemination, to preservation of knowledge, for teaching, learning, research, and scholarship.

Stony Brook University Libraries has traditionally collected books, journals, and other resources, building collections in support of students, researchers, faculty, scholars and clinicians. Increasingly, SBU users are in need of resources and services relating to scholarly communication, from the beginning of the scholarly communication cycle  (data management and data curation) through publishing and dissemination (open access repositories and journals), and University Libraries can assist in these areas.
