North Reading Room Refresh

We’re excited to share that one of the library’s busiest study spaces, the North Reading Room, will soon be getting a refresh. After years of heavy daily use, some of the furniture in the room has begun to show significant wear and tear. In response to feedback from students and other library users, we will be introducing some new furnishings designed to better support comfort, focus, and a variety of study needs.

The updated space will include bar-height tables near the windows, creating bright and inviting spots for studying and laptop work while making better use of the natural light in the room. We will also be adding single seats with high fabric-covered backs to provide more privacy and help absorb sound in this high-traffic area. In addition, the computer area will receive new chairs to improve comfort during longer work sessions.

These updates reflect the library’s ongoing commitment to creating welcoming, functional spaces that respond to how our community studies, works, and uses the library every day. We look forward to sharing the refreshed space with you in the coming weeks.
