University Libraries is pleased to announce Ashley Tschakert-Foertmeyer as the new Academic Engagement Librarian. Ashley started on July 1, 2026. As Academic Engagement Librarian, she is involved in creating and delivering innovative curriculum-based instruction as well as developing engaging outreach programs and workshops with our academic partners. She joins a dedicated instruction team in the Research & Learning Division of University Libraries.
A native of Central Ohio, Ashley earned a BA in English with a concentration in Writing, Rhetoric, and Literacy from The Ohio State University and an Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Most recently she served as the Teaching and Engagement Librarian at Ohio Wesleyan University, where she helped develop the freshman seminar curriculum and co-led the university’s AI Task Force. Ashley’s work is driven by a deep passion for learning, teaching, and a commitment to student success.
