Through this portal, three of our collections are now freely accessible on JSTOR.org, connecting global researchers, students, and community members to these important primary sources. These collections represent the first phase of a growing initiative to make more of our distinctive holdings discoverable and accessible to audiences worldwide.

Featuring 44 oversized prints of etchings, this collection showcases pastoral nature scenes, regional landscapes, architectural landmarks, and stunning views of 19th-century New York City and Long Island.
The Senator Jacob K. Javits Collection
An inspiring look into the life, legislative career, and legacy of Senator Jacob K. Javits. Raised in New York City, Javits became a pivotal champion for social justice, playing a key role in passing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and advancing healthcare, equal rights, and social welfare reform.
The Tintype Portraits Collection
A powerful visual record featuring tintype portraits of primarily unidentified African Americans from the 1860s and 1880s.
Accessibility and AI:
To ensure these materials serve everyone, we have utilized JSTOR’s advanced accessibility and innovative AI-assisted features. The JSTOR platform features robust alt text for visual items and comprehensive transcriptions for audio and video recordings. We have also utilized JSTOR’s AI tool, Seeklight, to generate transcripts and help accelerate the creation of descriptive metadata to enhance discovery.
