On March 15th at 1pm, the University Libraries will hold the first event in the Spring 2018 Colloquium Series. These events feature the research and professional development activities of SBU Libraries’ faculty and staff, while creating a forum for interdisciplinary discussion. This colloquium will include two presentations:
“Staying Present through Twitter”
Will Blydenburgh and Chris Kretz
This talk will look at how the Southampton campus library has learned to use Twitter to stay connected to the Stony Brook community. Using examples, analytics, and current research, we’ll demonstrate how we’ve learned to interact more closely with the wider Stony Brook community even at a geographic remove.
“Fear of Public Speaking”
Mona Ramonetti
Many of our students face the same fear…public speaking! Mona will discuss the successful strategies she has identified in order to assist our students in navigating the terrain of public speaking.
