On Monday, February 13th, the University Libraries hosted Dr. Zebulon Vance Miletsky, who gave a lecture in honor of Black History Month. Entitled, “Obama, Post-Racialism and the New American Dilemma,” this talk explored the historical antecedents of racial crisis in America, and how the past can be seen to repeat itself even as many consider the United States to be in a moment of post-racialism. Dr. Miletsky’s words inspired a rich discussion among the students, faculty, and staff members in attendance.
