Welcome Stephanie Lopez, Clinical Information Scientist

Stony Brook University Libraries is pleased to welcome Stephanie Lopez, Clinical Information Scientist to the Health Sciences Library. Stephanie is an experienced librarian and researcher. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the College of Arts & Sciences at New York University. In addition, she obtained a Master of Science in Library & Information Science from the College of Computing & Informatics at Drexel University.
In her new role, Stephanie will support medical professionals in their research while advancing health literacy, critical appraisal skills, and research engagement. She will provide instruction across a variety of graduate medical education programs. She will also conduct outreach activities in order to connect medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, and researchers with Stony Brook’s library resources and services. Stephanie’s research interests include women’s health and public health initiatives that support underserved populations, including survivors of domestic and sexual violence, incarcerated individuals, and people experiencing food insecurity.
