Stony Brook University Libraries is pleased to announce that Gianna N. Fraccalvieri has joined Special Collections and University Archives as a Curator/Archivist PRODiG+ Fellow. Gianna is an early career archivist, librarian, and historian committed to enhancing archival access and public engagement within university communities. She earned a dual Master of Library Science and Master of Arts in History (MLS/MA), along with an Advanced Certificate in Archives, from the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at Queens College, CUNY, in 2025.
Through her research and practice, Gianna seeks to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion while expanding meaningful access to archival collections. Her interests include studying the intersections between archival outreach and social activism at public institutions, focusing on how environmental justice initiatives and other forms of local climate action are documented in contemporary New York history. In her new role, Gianna will contribute to archival processing, instruction, and outreach while helping connect students, faculty, researchers, and the broader community with Stony Brook’s distinctive research collections.
