Shimmering Sounds of Strings at Art of the Violin

The series’ final concert for the academic year on Wednesday, April 29 emphasized the string quartet repertory, as well as music from the Contemporary, Baroque, Romantic and Classical periods. The program presented a marvelous opportunity for collaboration with performers from other string studios.

Chaewon Kim and Hanbo Wang, violins; Rachel Haber, viola and Jonathan Kim, cello performed the 2nd movement of Béla Bartok’s String Quartet No. 2, Op. 17.
Shiqi Yang performed the Largo and Allegro assai from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Sonata No. 3 in C Major, BWV 1005.

Hyeonji Kim, Luxi Wang, violins ; Zitian Lyu, viola, and Jaewon Yoon, violoncello, performed the 4th movement of Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet in F minor, op. 95.
The concert concluded with a performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s String Quartet in G Major, K. 387, by Professor Jennifer Frautschi and Seeun Baek, violins ; Yuchen Lu, viola, and Jonathan Lu, cello.

Our thanks to all of the performers, and to Professor Frautschi for coordinating the program ; and to Susan Connelly, Ahmad Pratama, Chris Kretz, Victor Santiago, Francesca Tejeda, Caterina Reed-Araujo, and Annette Mims for their assistance in setting up and breaking down the performance space. A great summer to all!
