Introducing Covidence

SBU researchers now have access to an institutional subscription to Covidence, a web-based platform designed to make conducting evidence synthesis projects more manageable. Most commonly used for systematic or scoping reviews, Covidence can support and streamline any sort of knowledge synthesis project. The platform allows you to do your citation screening, full-text review, risk of bias assessment, and data extraction all in one place. It also supports seamless remote collaboration with co-authors. The software’s user-friendly interface and features can reduce the time researchers spend on reviews.

Covidence is most commonly used in the medical fields, but it is increasingly relevant to work done in all disciplines that rely on evidence-based practice.

Start here to register for an account.  Select “Sign in with SSO” on the login screen and use your Stony Brook or Stony Brook Medicine email address to gain access. As institutional members, SBU scholars can create unlimited reviews and can collaborate with colleagues across SBU or invite colleagues from other institutions.

An upcoming webinar on the use of Covidence will be held on April 24 at 1:00 pm with a Covidence representative. Register  here for the webinar.

For additional training and support materials, see the Covidence Knowledge Base and the Covidence Academy

This software complements the support provided by SBU librarians. If you are new to the research methodology supported by Covidence, check out these SBU Library guides:
