Match Day 2025: Good luck to all!

Stony Brook Libraries would like to wish all of our students a wonderful Match Day! We know you will all do great things in the next stage of your medical careers.

Every March, fourth-year medical students in the Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine receive the news as to where they will be completing their residency training, an event known as “Match Day.” This year, the event will take place on Friday, March 21st at noon. The National Residency Match Program uses a mathematical algorithm to place applicants into residency and fellowship positions. The students all gather together, with friends and family, to open their envelopes, containing the news of their next placement. For those that do not “match” during the first round, their names are re-entered into the system.

In 2024, 124 Stony Brook students matched during the first round.

Good luck to all!
