Listeners were treated to an enjoyable program presented by Professor Jennifer Frautschi’s violin students in the Galleria on March 12. Hudson Young and Professor Frautschi played movements from Gabriel Fauré’s Sonata for Violin and Piano, with accompaniment by Muli Yu. A cycle of Five Western Chinese Folk Songs, arranged by Baozhi Yang, were performed by Shiqi Yang, with Anna Vertypolokh at the piano. The concert concluded with Edvard Grieg’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 45, performed by Rachel Da Young Lim, violin and Kevin Kyaw, piano. In addition to the seated audience, listeners gathered outside of the Central Reading Room, on the main stairwell, and along the balconies to enjoy the performances. Our thanks to Professor Frautschi and all who participated! A special thanks to the Music Department’s piano technician, Tom Malenich and the library’s faculty and staff who assisted with setting up and breaking down the concert. Join us for the next concert on April 21!
