Library Social Media in the Works

We’re excited to welcome two new members to our Communications Team – two students who will be helping us spread the word about what SBU Libraries are doing. They’ll be out and about creating content, engaging with the community, and hopefully having a lot of fun!

Here they are in their own words:

Lara

My name is Lara, and I’m a freshman majoring in computer science. My main hobby is video editing, and I’ve been video editing since I was nine! I like listening to music and going on walks, especially on our beautiful campus. I believe that social media goes beyond just being a means of communication – it is an outlet for creativity and innovation! The Stony Brook libraries offer much more than people might think, and I am thrilled to share informative and engaging content about our remarkable libraries!

Vicky

My name is Vicky and I’m a current freshman majoring in economics. My main hobbies are drawing both traditionally and digitally along with visiting fun places with friends. You can often find me wandering around campus. In the age of technology, social media is a must for many organizations especially for such an important place on our campus, the library. I hope that through creating fun and informative content, students can learn more about the library and all the activities happening on campus besides just being a place to do schoolwork. Of course, it’s one of the many great places to study along with lots of resources, but this can also be an enjoyable aspect of college.
