Health Sciences Librarian Sunny Chung recently secured a grant from Region 7 of the National Network of the Libraries of Medicine (NNLM), which was used to purchase additional graphic medicine titles for University Libraries.
Graphic medicine is the use of comics to describe medically-related topics. It is a medium that can help to foster understanding of the emotional and personal impact of certain conditions through the telling of individual patient stories.
