The National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) new Policy for Data Management and Sharing (DMSP) will go into effect on January 25, 2023. The policy, initially released in 2020, requires researchers to submit a plan for how the data from any NIH-funded or NIH-conducted research will be stored and shared. Researchers are encouraged to make biomedical findings more accessible to the public, more shareable amongst the medical community, and to practice good data management habits. SBU Libraries has created a guide and a workshop to assist researchers in understanding the new policy. The workshop has been held several times already leading up to the policy implementation and will be offered again on February 15th via zoom during LOVE DATA WEEK and again on March 16th via zoom. You can register for either date using the links included above and the zoom access information will be provided to you. Another workshop detailing best practices for Data Management will be offered April 4th via zoom.
