SBU Libraries was honored to host a concert, “Art of Violin” featuring musicians from the Department of Music on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in the Melville Library galleria. I’d like to thank Michael Herskowitz and Jennifer Frautschi for working with the library to bring these wonderful concerts to life…….But most of all I’d like to thank the amazing musicians that perform for us!
Kate Dreyfuss, violin, Kalina Mrmevska, piano, Anna Tsukervanik, violin, Chloé Kiffer, violin, and Anne-Sophie Andersen, violin played selections from Sergei Prokofiev, Eugene Ysaye, Fritz Kreisler, and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Kate Dreyfuss is a second year Master’s student in violin performance at Stony Brook University. Prior to Stony Brook, she attended Princeton University, where she earned an AB in French.
Uzbekistani violinist Anna Tsukervanik is in the second year of the Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA) program at Stony Brook. She received her Master of Music (MM) from the Lynn University Conservatory in Florida.
French violinist Chloé Kiffer, a graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur of Paris and the Manhattan School of Music, is currently pursuing her DMA at Stony Brook.
Danish violinist Anne- Sophie Andersen is graduating this year with a DMA from Stony Brook. She received her Graduate Diploma from the New England Conservatory in Boston.
Our next concert will be on Wednesday, December 14 at 1pm.
