Travel back in time to see instruments used by dentists in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Objects from the personal collection of the late R. Sherman Mills, MD, the Baer Collection from the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and the private collection of Allan J. Kucine, DDS are currently on display at the Health Sciences Library. This exhibit is presented by Stony Brook University Libraries, Stony Brook Medicine, the School of Dential Medicine and the Suffolk County Historical Society. A reception will be held in the Health Sciences Library on December 1 from 11 to 1 followed by a lecture presented by Philias R. Garant, DMD, former Dean, School of Dental Medicine titled “History of Dental Medicine.” The lecture will begin at 1 pm in Library Classroom 2.
At 2 pm,the Inaugural Lecture Series of the Office of Global Library Initiatives will be presented by Xiaolin Nong, PhD, DDS, entitled “The Idea of Exchange.” Please join us for this exciting exhibit and lecture series event.
