As we all know, plagiarism and intellectual property rights are prime subjects these days for academics and business people alike. It’s difficult to find sources of media that are available for use without stepping on someone else’s intellectual property rights. But sometimes you need that perfect image for your PowerPoint presentation, or a great stock image for that digital collage you’re working on. Is there a site that collects free stock images that are available without crossing the lines of copyright? There is indeed, and it’s called Pixabay <https://pixabay.com/>. Pixabay hosts nearly a million videos, photos, and other images that are free for use under Creative Commons CC0. In their words, this means:
“You can copy, modify, distribute, and use the images, even for commercial purposes, all without asking for permission or giving credits to the artist. However, depicted content may still be protected by trademarks, publicity or privacy rights.” (quoted from Pixabay FAQ page)
This makes it a great place to find images for your projects, both in and out of the classroom. Have fun surfing around and looking at the creative images created by artists worldwide.
