Molly Higgins, Health Sciences Librarian
Social Responsibility, Democracy, Education, and Professionalism: Report on the ACRL/NY 2015 Symposium:
The ALA’s Core Values of Librarianship include social responsibility, democracy, education, and professionalism. How do you interpret these values? And what does it mean to incorporate them into the scholarship and daily operations of libraries?

Shafeek Fazal, Associate Director for Library Technology, Discovery & Digital Services
Open Education Resources:
OER repositories, open textbooks, open access journals, open courseware, and many more categories of materials make up the vast collection of Open Educational Resources. This session explores how to navigate the OER landscape and locate resources to use, re-use and re-purpose for teaching and learning. The Open License structure and Creative Commons will also be discussed as applicable to re-use of existing content and creation of new content. A few case examples will be presented on the trend of collaborative digital scholarship at universities that leads to the creation of OER content.
