Dr. Yimin Zhao, Visiting Scholar of the Stony Brook University Libraries, will present: The Hallucination of the Large Language Model: A New “Platonic Cave”?

Dr. Yimin Zhao is a research librarian at Yunnan Normal University in China. He received his PhD in 2010 and then completed his postdoctoral research at the National Library of China. He is a master’s supervisor and a member of the Council of the Chinese Social Sciences Information Association and a member of the Library Policy Research Professional Committee of the Library Society of China. His research interests include information organization, information services, and artificial intelligence. He has been the principal investigator of various projects, including the National Social Science Fund Project and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation Project. He has published over 90 papers in academic journals and conferences, and he has authored or co-authored nearly 20 books.
