Description
Lone Survivor is a film which tells the true story of a US Navy SEAL team in Afghanistan in 2005. Lt. Michael Murphy from Long Island died during one of the team’s heroic operations, along with all the other SEALs from the team except one. This film screening is intended to complement The Murph Challenge, which is an annual worldwide fundraising event in honor of Lt. Murphy. Stony Brook University is an official site for the Murph Challenge. SBU’s Murph Challenge is sponsored and planned by the Office of Veterans Affairs.
