Description

The University Libraries is excited to host a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon in celebration of Open Access Week 2019! A team of librarians and Wikipedia experts is ready to help you improve articles related to the Open Access Week theme “Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge.” No prior experience editing Wikipedia is needed.

Refreshments will be provided. We will have some laptops available for use, but we suggest that you bring your own if possible.

More information about edit-a-thons is available on Wikipedia.

This event is presented in collaboration with Wikimedia New York City, the Wiki Education Foundation, and the University of Virginia Data Science Institute.

Location

The Center for Scholarly Communication is located in Melville Library’s North Reading Room on the second floor.

Registration

Please register as a participant at the Wikipedia event page

If you do not already have one, we suggest that you create a Wikipedia account prior to this event. It only takes a minute!
