Description
What IS a banned book? A banned book is one that has been removed from the shelves of a library, bookstore, or classroom because of its controversial content. In some cases, banned books of the past have been burned and/or refused publication. … A book may be challenged or banned on political, religious, sexual, or social grounds. Not at Stony Brook University!
Stop by the Central Reading Room and see some of the many previously banned books available to check out from our collection. On Wednesday, 9/25 from 1-2, we will be taking ‘mug shots’ of you with your banned book of choice!
