Description

In conjunction with the Zuccaire Gallery’s current exhibition Revisiting 5+1, Dr. Courtney J. Martin, the Paul Mellon Director of the Yale Center for British Art and Stony Brook University alumna, will discuss the 1969 Stony Brook exhibition 5+1 and the roles of the late art critic and Stony Brook professor of art history Lawrence Alloway and artist Frank Bowling.

Introductory remarks will be delivered by Stony Brook University President Maurie McInnis. A moderated Q&A conversation will follow the talk.

This Art in Focus lecture is sponsored by the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center and presented in collaboration with Stony Brook University Libraries and the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery at Staller Center and made possible by support from the John H. Marburger III Fund of Stony Brook University.
