Description
The April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse will be visible to a large portion of the United States, with the path of totality passing through upstate New York and northern New England. Although Long Island will not be in the path of totality, it will be at 88% totality. Certified viewing glasses and a clear day will be required for viewing, but there are other ways to participate besides viewing!
At this workshop, join Undergraduate Success Librarian Christine Fena to learn about the eclipse, the Eclipse Soundscape Project, and to pick up a pair of free certified solar viewing glasses to plan your eclipse experience! Co-sponsored by Stony Brook University Libraries’ DEIA Committee and the SBU Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives (DI3).
If you have a disability and are requesting accommodations in order to fully participate in this event, please email libraryevents@stonybrook.edu or call 631-632-7100.
Registration
This event is fully booked.
