Data Stacks: Effective Data Visualization with Python/R and Generative AI

Event Description

Data Stacks is SBU Libraries’ workshop series for building practical data skills, led by Ahmad Pratama, the SBU Libraries Data Literacies Lead.

In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to create and refine effective data visualizations using Python and/or R while integrating Generative AI into the design workflow. The workshop compares AI-generated plot suggestions with deliberate human design choices, practicing how to use AI for code generation and critique without surrendering human judgment regarding visual clarity, accuracy, and effective communication.
