Charles Pollock, ten years Jackson’s senior, was a distinguished painter in his own right. Born in 1902, he passed his later years in Paris, where he died in 1988. Philip will trace his path from Thomas Hart Benton and WPA-inspired Regionalism to pure abstraction in the late 1940s.
