Librarians Robert Tolliver and Laurel Scheinfeld welcomed students from Stony Brook University’s CSTEP Program. The students were taken on a tour of the Melville Library and were then provided with instruction on the use of library resources. The CSTEP Program aims to increase the numbers of underrepresented minority and income-eligible college students pursuing degrees in scientific, technological, health, and health-related fields of study. The librarians showed them important databases and other resources used in STEM fields. They will be able to put this information to use immediately during their pre-freshman summer residential program which runs from July 9 – Aug 8.
