This April marks the 20th anniversary of National Poetry Month. Available for research use in Special Collections are the archives of prominent poets, including William Butler Yeats, John Ciardi, Allen Ginsberg, and Jorge Carrera Andrade.
Acclaimed poets Kofi Awanoor, Robert Lowell, Gwendolyn Brooks, and Allen Ginsberg read their poetry at Stony Brook University in the 1960s and 1970s. The films of these programs and more have been digitized and are accessible here.
Long Island poets represented in the collections include Daniel Thomas Moran, Diana Chang, Claire Nicolas White, and Graham Evert.
