Library Concert Series: “The Art of Violin”

Featuring Violinists from the Department of Music

In the second installment of the violin studio’s concert series in the Melville Library Atrium, the Emanio String Quartet (Brian Bak and Matheus Sardinha Garcia Souza, violins; Jiwon Kim, viola; and So Sugiyama, cello) performs John Zorn’s dynamic String Quartet “Cat O’Nine Tails” (subtitled “Tex Avery Meets the Marquis de Sade”), written in 1988.  Jihyang Seo and Bowei Chen will play the Franck Violin Sonata, and ShanRong Tuo, Eun Hae Oh, and Micaela Fruend will perform the Beethoven Serenade.
