Brilliant Performances at Art of the Violin

Listeners were treated to a lively assortment of selections at the November 12, 2025 Art of the Violin concert in the Galleria! Seated audience members and passersby enjoyed the program and admired the artistry of Professor Frautschi’s violin students and guest musicians.

Hyeonji Kim, violin, and Zhuangxi Wang, piano, opened the program with the Allegro Moderato from the Sonata in A Major, D.574 by Franz Schubert.
Hanbo Wang played the Preludio, Loure, Gavotte en Rondeau and Menuet from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partita No. 3 for Solo Violin in E major, BWV 1006.
Hanbo Wang was then accompanied by Changyue Liu, piano in a performance of the Allegro, ma non troppo from the Sonata in E-flat major, op. 18, of Richard Strauss.
Professor Frautschi, violin, joined Guilherme Batalha, clarinet, Hudson Ye Hyung Chung, violin, Rachel Haber, viola, and Gustavo Antoniacomo, cello, in a moving performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Clarinet in A Major, K. 581.
Our sincerest thanks to Prof. Frautschi for coordinating this event ; to all the talented musicians who participated ; to Tom Malenich, for tuning and preparing the piano ; and all of the Library staff members who volunteered with setting up the chairs, stanchions, music stands, moving the piano, and breaking everything down after the concert. Have a great end of the semester, Happy Holidays and see you in the Spring!
