Art of the Violin Concert No. 2 Enthralls All

A hearty crowd of seated listeners and passersby took note of the stellar performances by students of Professor Jennifer Frautschi on Monday afternoon, November 4. The concert began with the Allegro from Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet Op. 77 No. 2 in F Major. It was followed by the opening movement of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major, K. 218. The usual piano accompaniment was replaced with the background of fellow string players. The intense Grave from Bach’s Sonata for Solo Violin BWV 1003 was the third selection on the program. The concert concluded with an entire Bach Sonata, BWV 1003. The performances were met with enthusiastic applause from an appreciative audience. Thanks to Tong Chen, Jennifer Frautschi, and Avital Mazor, violins; Lukas Shrout, viola; and Noah Koh, cello. Thanks also to Marta Weigand, Christine Fena, Jessica Infanzon, Ahmad Pratama, Charles Edwards, Chris Kretz, Victor Santiago, Justin Manoo and Steven Ospina Delgado for their invaluable assistance in setting up and restoring the Galleria for the event.
