On February 6th, Dr. Abena Ampofoa Asare presented a lecture at the Stony Brook University Libraries in honor of Black History Month. Her talk, “Fear & Angelic Troublemaking,” was a deeply insightful and inspiring treatment of key issues surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. Dr. Asare stimulated discussion by placing this movement in social, historical, and personal context, leading to a rich conversation with faculty members, students, and others who attended the event.
Please join us next week, February 13th, for the second lecture in this series, given by Dr. Zebulon Vance Miletsky. Please visit this page for details.
