2025 Short Term Scholar Award: Senator Jacob. K. Javits Collection

About:

Stony Brook University Libraries, located 65 miles east of New York City, is offering two short term scholar travel awards of $2,500 during the fall 2025 semester to support research using the Senator Jacob. K. Javits Collection. The award program has been established with support generously provided through an endowment established by the Marian B. and Jacob. K. Javits Foundation.

Special Collections at Stony Brook University Libraries is the official repository of papers of U.S. Senator Jacob K. Javits of New York. In addition to documenting significant national and international events, the Senator Jacob. K. Javits Collection offers a valuable window into the inner workings of political leadership, the U.S. government, and policy development in areas such as healthcare, civil rights, pension reform, housing, education, the arts, and bipartisanship political efforts – making it a vital resource for researchers seeking to understand the impact and evolution of U.S. public policy and bipartisanship endeavors.

Scholars in all fields of research are encouraged to apply. Historians, political scientists, biographers, journalists, and scholars of American studies or public administration may be particularly interested in the archive.
