Stony Brook University students from all departments (regardless of skill level) are invited to submit artwork, photographs, poems, or short writings (250-500 words) to a physical art exhibit at the Library titled: CULTURE & IDENTITY, sponsored by the Staller Center’s Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery and the Frank Melville Jr. Memorial Library. Artwork or writing responses are open to any interpretation of the themes: identity, culture, heritage, or folklore.
Timeline
Artwork and writings will be exhibited for the time period of February 26th to May 20th. Submissions can be made anytime, but are encouraged by February 10th. There will be a soft open on February 26th and a take down on the first week of May for the physical exhibition.
Additional Information
All respondents will be given a mutually agreed upon time and date for artwork drop off at the Zuccaire Gallery between February 1 and February 10th. Framed Artwork is encouraged but not required. Unframed artwork and writings might be part of a communal art piece bulletin board that students can continue to add on to once it is hanging.
Submissions must adhere to Stony Brook University’s Code of Student Responsibility and Community Standards.
How to submit
All submissions should be made via this form. Please contact Kiana Lom with any questions.
