“The Suffolk Symphonic Orchestra and Society Papers” – For nearly twenty years the Suffolk Symphonic Orchestra played a significant role in the cultural life of the Three Villages area, and Stony Brook University was an integral part of the orchestra’s history. Come hear Music Librarian Gisele Schierhorst tell the story of the orchestra, based on primary source materials from the Melville Library’s archives. Associate Director for Branch Libraries Sherry Chang will present, “Libraries as Place and Learning Space in the 21st Century.” The report will also include: History of Stony Brook University Science Branch Libraries and Academic Libraries Visited
Programs will each be approximately 25 minutes with Q&A to follow.
