Call for Lightning Talks: Library Research Forum

To learn new ideas and generate discussions among colleagues, the Library organizes a Research Forum that will take place on Thursday, May 7 from 10am to 12pm in the Javits Room.

Below is the agenda of the forum:

10:00am – 10:05am: Opening Speech on Research Collaboration from the Dean of University Libraries, Constantia Constantinou.

10:05am – 11:00am: Lightning Talks from library colleagues.

11:00am – 12:00pm: Presentation on Published Librarian Research, 2008 through 2012: Analyses and Perspectives from Dr. Selenay Aytac, Long Island University, and Bruce Slutsky, New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Our lightning talk will be a very short 2-3 minute presentation on ideas that may include, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • bibliometrics
  • collaboration
  • digital project
  • makerspace
  • new information tool
  • outreach program
  • scholarly communication

The talk could be supplemented with a few slides.  The proposal should contain the title of the talk and the description of your topic in no more than three sentences.  Please consider submitting a proposal to Clara Tran, yuet.tran@stonybrook.edu by Thursday, April 23.  Thank you for your participation!
