The Stony Brook University community is invited to an exhibition and panel discussion celebrating four decades of achievement of one of the world’s most prolific and influential chamber music ensembles, the Emerson String Quartet.  Walk the hallway to the Music Library and experience forty-one seasons of the Emerson’s career, a story of hard work and creative risk-taking rewarded by one dazzling success after another.

Then, in a panel discussion moderated by the Chair of the Department of Music, members, past and present (ex-cellist David Finckel will join the festivities), of the Emerson String Quartet will reflect on their long and varied career, and the steps they took to become one of the three great American string quartets of the last half century.
