Description

SBU Libraries, in collaboration with the Office of Veterans Affairs and Suffolk County Community College Libraries, wishes to recognize veterans at both institutions for their service. Please join us for a lively discussion of the 2013 film Travis: A Soldier’s Story, based on the true life story of a wounded warrior and his remarkable recovery. SSG Travis Mills lost portions of both arms and legs as the result of an I.E.D. on April 10, 2012 while on patrol in Afghanistan. The film is an intimate look into the life of a wounded solider as he faces the physical and emotional challenges of this life-altering injury. The film is available for Stony Brook University students, faculty and staff to watch on your own before the discussion through our Academic Video Online database at this link.
