Description
A unique installation that was recently opened to the public at Stony Brook University: “STEM + Arts = STEAM” powerfully represents the inherent synergy between the natural sciences and visual arts. The work was co-developed by the interdisciplinary team of Professor Ete Chan, Department of Biomedical Engineering, and Professor Nobuho Nagasawa, Department of Art, in partnership with Stony Brook University Libraries. The exhibit features three biosignal-driven works which illustrate the influence our bodies have on technology portrayed artistically.
On February 23, please join us for a special event during Campus Life Time (1-2:20 pm) which will celebrate this exhibition. At the event, faculty from computer science, Professor I.V. Ramakrishnan, and art history Professor Karen Lloyd will make short presentations on their current STEAM research. The event will conclude with final remarks by CAS Dean Nicole Sampson and CEAS Dean Jon Longtin.
The event will be limited to 40 in-person attendees. Please register below. You can also attend via livestream!
