Adding Color and Creativity to Library Spaces

We’re excited to announce the installation of artwork in the Central and North Reading Rooms! These vibrant pieces bring color, personality, and a sense of warmth to our environment, making the library feel even more welcoming for all who visit.

One special installation is the work of Stony Brook University student, Anika Griffing. The artwork is located in the magazine area of the Central Reading Room. Anika was one of the winners of last spring’s ART Tank competition.

Art has the power to inspire, spark conversation, and create a sense of place. Whether you’re here to study, explore new ideas, or simply relax, these artistic additions enhance the experience and make the library more vibrant. You can read about some of the other recent art installations in library spaces in Stony Brook News.

We invite you to stop by, take in the creativity, and let these beautiful works of art brighten your visit. This is just one of the many ways we’re working to make the library not just a place for books, but a space that feels like home.

Come see the transformation for yourself!
