Welcome back to all of our OT, PT, Health Informatics, SOMAS, and MFA students! And in a few days, we’ll say hello to the new Health Administration program. It’s an exciting time to be on the Southampton campus and we wanted to highlight a few of the ongoing developments at the library, designed to help you be more productive and succeed in your goals.
New Health Science book collection: provides a core selection of titles for our health-related programs to use in the library. Whether you’re studying anatomy, kinesiology, or pathophysiology, come see what we have.
Art in Focus lecture series: SBU Libraries is highlighting the arts through a number of events this year. Southampton kicks it off with three lectures in the library: Sept. 12, Sept. 26, and Oct 10. Come hear museum professionals, scholars, and faculty discuss their current projects: everything from art restoration to the Jazz Age to the Venice Biennale. The University Libraries’ Art in Focus Southampton events are co-sponsored by the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center and made possible by support from the John H. Marburger III Fund of Stony Brook University.
Library workshops: We’re running a number of workshops in the library. Want to learn more about Endnote? Want to improve your database searching? Or make your own chapbook? Check our event schedule for all times. Don’t see what you want? Let us know what workshop you’d like to see in the future.
More printing: when it comes right down to it, your time is valuable. To help get you where you need to go, a second black and white printer has been added to the library lobby to help shorten any wait times. And as you pick up your printouts, check out the new display case! Keep up-to-date on what’s happening in the library and on the ever-evolving Southampton campus.
Here’s to a great semester!
