SBU Libraries launch a new book exchange program to provide popular reading material for students.
In Spring 2012, Stony Brook University Libraries entered the Annual Roth Pond Regatta for the first time. Library personnel designed, built and sailed the cardboard boat, the SS Melville, to a second-place victory in the Speedster Division!
After three heats, the boat was still intact. Now it is being used to hold popular reading material, donated by campus employees, for use by Stony Brook students. You can find it in the Central Reading Room of the Melville Library.
Students are welcome to borrow any of the books that are in the SS Melville. Please return whatever you take when you finish reading it, and feel free to add a book or two!
