On Monday, July 27th at 10AM, members of the University Libraries’ Preservation Department hosted a departmental open house for library colleagues and interested parties. The open house was the first of a series of planned departmental open houses designed to share with and educate internal faculty and staff in the day-to-day work of the libraries’ various daily operations. The Preservation Department staff and faculty displayed examples of the various types of work conducted within the department, highlighting the breadth of unique services offered, including but not limited to book repair, binding techniques and equipment, emergency response materials and environmental monitoring equipment used to analyze storage environments. The department extends a sincere thanks to all who attended and participated in the morning’s events.
