Charles A. Riley II, Director, Nassau County Museum of Art
Charlie will take us on a private tour of the current exhibition at his museum, for which Eric Fischl was the curatorial advisor. The show features more than a hundred works by the great art-world personalities of the 1980s, including Fischl, Julian Schnabel, David Salle, Ross Bleckner, Bryan Hunt, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, April Gornik, Kenny Scharf, Cindy Sherman, Robert Longo, Jenny Holzer, Robert Mapplethorpe, Annette Lemieux, Charlie Clough, Tseng Kwong Chi, Jonathan Lasker and others.
Charles A. Riley II is the author of more than twenty books on the arts, as well as hundreds of features, news articles, exhibition catalogue essays, and reviews published in national and international magazines. He has presented exhibitions devoted to Picasso, Surrealism and contemporary art. He is a former reporter for Fortune magazine and former editor-in-chief of WE magazine, and has participated in cultural policy and educational think tanks internationally. A graduate (summa cum laude) of Princeton University, he received his Ph.D. from The CUNY Graduate Center.
