Join Dean Karim Boughida for a special event with the author and journalist Adam Shatz

Adam Shatz is the US editor of The London Review of Books and a contributor to the New York Times Magazine, the New York Review of Books, the New Yorker, and other publications. He is also a visiting professor at Bard College, and the host of the podcast “Myself with Others,” produced by the pianist Richard Sears. Raised in Massachusetts, he studied history at Columbia University and has lived in New York City since 1990. He is the author of three books: Prophets Outcast: A Century of Dissident Jewish Writing about Zionism and Israel (Nation Books); Writers and Missionaries: Essays on the Radical Imagination (Verso); and The Rebel’s Clinic: the Revolutionary Lives of Frantz Fanon (FSG).

Please join Stony Brook University (SBU) University Libraries, the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility committee at the Charles B. Wang Center, Lecture Hall 1, for a panel on Friday, April 26th, 2024, at 1 pm featuring: author Adam Shatz, Dr. Zebulon Miletsky (Africana Studies/History), and Dr. Shimelis Gulema (Africana Studies), moderated by Dean Karim Boughida. This conversation will discuss the revolutionary lives of Frantz Fanon.

Copies of The Rebel’s Clinic will be available for purchase immediately before and after the discussion. During the book signing, a reception will be held at the Skylight Gallery, and light refreshments will be provided.
