Location
Central Reading Room, Lab A
Description
You can travel through time via digitized newspaper collections. You can find out how people lived, worked, and died by researching within breaking stories, sports pages, comics, obituaries, and more. This workshop will introduce you to the historic newspaper databases available through Stony Brook and on the open web. We’ll use the example of an unknown, scandalous story from Long Island’s past to illustrate how to find information in old newspapers.
