Stony Brook University Libraries are proud to host our 2nd Annual Photo Scavenger Hunt this October! Designed as a fun and challenging game to introduce students to our various branches and plentiful services, the hunt invites small groups of students to solve a series of riddles and puzzles that will lead them through the buildings and webpages that contain information about our collection and research tools. Last year’s hunt was a huge success, with more than a dozen of students coming out to compete for some amazing prizes. This year’s winning group can expect more of the same as we encourage those unfamiliar with our libraries to come explore them in a unique way.
This year teams will be given a larger window of time to compete the hunt, to accommodate overlapping class times. Packets can be picked up by at least one team member at the Information Desk in the Main Library’s Central Reading Room. Groups must answer the clues together and photograph themselves at each destination or object indicated in the clue. Extra points go to the team with the best photos! Each clue leads to the next, so dividing them up among team members is not an option. Though the hunt should not take more than 1.5 hours in total, groups will have until 3pm that afternoon to return the packets and email their pictures to the address provided. For information or to register individually or with peers, visit the official website.

We hope to see you there!
